June 2011: 700" of snow has fallen in the Sierra Nevada mountains and brought a snap to the previous four years of drought. Graduating high school and deciding what I wanted to do with my life, the only obvious choice was to head to the mountains. All the highlights of that epic winter totally distorted my future expectations forever. Chest deep snow days at Kirkwood and Mt. Rose burned into my brain. An absurd amount of snow for joyfully drifting the family Subaru around Tahoe Donner when the plows couldn't keep up. Catching glorious sunny summer laps at Squaw in June, I couldn't wait to start chasing the dream that next winter.
